Beautiful Villa in the Colli Euganei an hour from Venice

Looking to spend time living, working or just playing in Italy? Consider an exchange for our villa in the Colli Euganei less than an hour by train from Venice.

The Villa Renée is a 6770 square foot stone villa built in the 1500s and 1700s on two floors with beamed ceilings, a large covered front portico, garage, fully modern amenities including air-conditioning with a vineyard and olive orchard located in the ancient Euganean Hills with a spectacular view located less than an hour from Venice.

The villa has five bedrooms and five baths. One bedroom is used as an office/computer room. We have ADSL access and a Mac computer with printer and scanner plus a Fax machine in that room.  We also have satellite TV with over 800 channels, with many offering programming and movies in English.

The Euganean Hills (Colli Euganei) are ancient hills inhabited since the Bronze Age and planted with vineyards by the ancient Romans. Located in a small town near Este, a town older than Rome, in the Province of Padova, less than an hour from Venice.

The villa is located in the hills overlooking the valley below on an enclosed/fenced acre of land located in the Colli Euganei Regional Park with highly restricted building laws. This is the Tuscan Hills without the tourist clutter, the Italian countryside as it once was (and still is in rare areas like this).

Here is an opportunity to live life in a little bit of heaven, drink your own wine and taste your own olive oil on vegetables from your own orto (vegetable garden). A local farmer takes care of the property for us. A look at a map of Italy and Europe will show you how well-located we are for visiting virtually everywhere on the continent.

You are near a train station that can take you to Venice (51 minutes), Padova (20 minutes), Ferrara (30 minutes), Bologna (one hour) and on to Florence, Milan, Rome, Naples etc within a few hours. A short drive will take you to Vicenza, Verona and up through the Brenner Pass to Austria and beyond. Overnight trains take you easily and comfortably in a private compartment, should you so choose, to Paris, Vienna, Budapest, Prague, Amsterdam, Brussels and beyond.

While we still prefer an exchange would also consider renting our villa on a monthly, and occasionally weekly, basis.
