Pearl District Loft
- United States, Oregon,
- 1BR/2BA (Sleeps 6)1200 Sq.Ft.
A spacious, two-story loft in the Pearl District of Portland. The Pearl is the old warehouse/industrial neighborhood in Northwest Portland, just north of downtown. In recent years the area has been redeveloped with condo conversions and many new condo towers. The neighborhood is rich in restaurants, galleries, theaters and shops, including Powell’s Books, an enormous bookstore. The Portland Streetcar runs three blocks from the loft, and will take you downtown and also connects with the MAX light rail which runs to the airport. http://trimet.org/max/ So it is possible to go from the airport to the loft without using a car.
The loft is in a ninety year old department store warehouse which was converted to condos about ten years ago. The loft has its own street-level entrance as well as an automobile parking space in the garage just outside the back door of the unit. There is a fully equipped kitchen, and Safeway and Whole Foods markets are a short walk away. There are four brewery pubs within a five minute walk, coffee houses, wine bars, and restaurants of every description.
Portland is a fun city to explore on foot or bicycle. If you have a car then the scenic Columbia River Gorge, Mt. Hood, and the Oregon Coast are all about an hour away.
We use the loft just as a pied-a-terre, so it is available all year.
